Manchester United ready to bail out Barça

While Barcelona is looking for any way to recover cash to be active in the transfer market, Manchester United is close to help.

Barcelona has great ambitions for the upcoming summer mercato. Robert Lewandowski is at the top of their wish list, followed by Bernardo Silva and Ruben Neves. The problem for the Catalan club is that its coffers are in very bad shape and for the moment, Joan Laporta and the Blaugrana management are extremely limited in their room for maneuver. Almost obliged to get rid of some of their high value players, they could benefit from the intervention of Manchester United.

For their part, the Red Devils are not bothered by financial issues, as they plan to reshape their team for next season. Several United elements have already packed their bags, such as Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jessie Lingard, and new players are expected to replace them. Erik ten Hag, who took over the United bench at the end of the season, is working to attract the first big fish in the person of Frenkie de Jong.

70M€ is a no
The two men have already worked together at Ajax Amsterdam and ten Hag would have had the right arguments to convince the Barça player to join Manchester United. De Jong had repeatedly stated his desire to stay in a team that represented his dream footballer. But the words of his former coach would have, according to the Mirror, borne fruit.

However, the media adds that Manchester United still has to reach an agreement with Barça. A first offer of 70 million euros was refused by the Catalan entity. Discussions should resume quickly and United could make a slightly higher proposal.
