Pogba back in Serie A, Sabatini welcomes it
Walter Sabatini, the former head of recruitment at Roma, welcomes Paul Pogba’s comeback in the Italian league.
The former head of transfers at Roma, Walter Sabatini, encourages Juventus in its desire to recover its former star, the French Paul Pogba. For him, this acquisition would be an excellent signal about the health of the Italian league.
Pogba is expected to join Juve following the expiration of his contract at Manchester United. Sabatini is aware of this possible arrival. He told Tuttosport: “His return to Juventus is a powerful signal. A strong signal for the rivals but also for Italian soccer, which must recover positions compared to foreign leagues.”
Pogba expected in Turin in early July
Pogba has reportedly agreed personal terms with Juve on an initial three-year contract. His arrival at the Bianconeri is expected to be made official in early July.
In his documentary aired on Amazon Prime, the French international did not reveal his future destination, but he gave a hint about what his future environment should be: “Like everyone else, I need to feel loved, that people are happy with what I achieve… As soon as the club makes the effort to know you, you can give the best of yourself because you feel mentally liberated”.
As a reminder, during his first stint at Juventus (between 2012 and 2016), he played 178 games and scored 34 goals. He also played an important role in the conquest of four consecutive Scudetti, both under Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri.
